The Assistant Manager - Sourcing is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. This role bridges engineering and procurement by supporting new product development (NPD), localization, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier performance management.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development
  • Identify and develop new suppliers aligned with company requirements.
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments and technical audits.
  • Supplier Rationalisation and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
2. Engineering Support & Costing
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Quality teams during product development.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure supplier capability.
  • Support value engineering (VE) and cost reduction projects.
3. Supplier Performance Management
  • Monitor supplier KPIs (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service)
  • Lead supplier review meetings and improvement plans
  • Manage risk mitigation and alternate sourcing strategies.
4. Procurement & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manage RFQs, comparative analysis, and sourcing approvals.
  • Support contract finalization and documentation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial)
  • 7-9 years of experience in sourcing within Manufacturing.
  • Strong technical understanding of Materials, Processes, and Cost Structures.
  • Experience in Supplier audits and Negotiation.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
